Central Alabama Disaster Relief

CADR is a registered 501C3 Nonprofit Charity dedicated to assisting those affected by disasters through response, relief, and recovery efforts. Our EIN is 93-2856006.

"It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35)

Have you ever imagined the heartbreak of losing everything to a disaster, natural or otherwise? The feeling of desperation can be overwhelming, leaving individuals devastated with no where to turn.

Witnessing the destruction caused by such events is a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of a supportive response. In light of this, CADR was established to assist those caught in the aftermath of these tragedies.

Our mission is clear: we strive to deliver immediate resources and relief to those affected, while also focusing on both short-term and long-term recovery efforts. By offering compassionate support and practical assistance, we aim to help victims rebuild their lives and restore hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. Together, we can make a difference.

Disaster Response, Relief and Recovery

Response: CADR Liaison’s with EMAs in Central Alabama in an effort to be used where we can make the most impact, immediately following a disaster. Our mission is to arrive on scene with equipment, people and supplies to fill immediate needs (warmth, food, water, shelter, etc.

Relief: We make ourselves available to those that need immediate shelter and warmth, when able, supplying both until the effected can find shelter and other assistance. We do this by using partnerships with churches, hotels and private citizens who wish to help with lodging for victims.

Recovery: Everyone has special needs the weeks following a disaster. They can range from short term transportation to help finding a new home to navigating numerous long term relief systems. It is our mission to assist where we can, when we can. It is as simple as that.

How can you help with Disaster Relief?

Effective disaster relief does not happen over night. To be efficient and effective, disaster relief must be planned and practiced. Volunteers need to be trained, equipment needs to be acquired or borrowed, funds need to be ready to be used to help victims and much more. Because of this, there are many roles a volunteer can fill.

Some examples are scene volunteers that do the traditional disaster scene clearing, those that work with victims at the scene, a site command post operator, safety personnel and more. Not at the scene we also need technology folks (website, Facebook etc.), fund raising persons, radio operators (HAM), command post volunteers and more. In short, everyone can help in some beneficial way. It takes a team!
